BARBARA RETURNS TO NEW YORK!!! MAY 25TH!

After five years, Barbara is back in New York!

Barbara's daughter Danielle will host a reception on May 25th at Haven, featuring selected works by the artist.

Haven is a beautiful upscale midtown lounge located on East 51st street, around the corner from the famous Zarela Restaurant, and a few blocks away from the MOMA, among many other smaller reputable art venues.

The event is open to the public and free of admission. However, an RSVP is highly suggested in the event that the venue reaches capacity, as the artist has already received a wide response of attendees. The show will hang for the duration of the event, and that night only. A smaller selection of works from the show will hang at Haven for the following month, but the majority of the production will come down immediately after the event.

LOLLYPOPS AND DRAGONS A BIG SUCCESS!!!

As expected, Lollypops proved to provide a tremendous turnout and a fabulous response. The show attracted a very diverse audience ranging from the ages of 17 to 60+. which speaks novels not only of the venue and the event itself, but of Barbara's work, and how everyone can relate to it on some level.

The show opens with Guardiana de las Ruinas to the left, and Cassandra's Masks.

Barbara's famous painting of Riker's Island hangs on the back lower wall. Riker's always strikes up some interesting conversation.

The earlier crowd huddles around Barbara's homemade tapas.

Where the earlier crowd remains!

Some of Barbara's younger audience makes an appearance, and settle on the upper level of the venue.

After much deliberating, and a whole lot of rearranging...

The show at the Colony looks fantastic. Monday and Tuesday were spent hanging, and re-hanging, rearranging and a whole lot of pricetagging, to fill a massive space with an even larger body of artwork.

Over five hundred invitations have been sent out, emails have been sent, and flyers have been posted. Our guestlist includes the Art Times, The Woodstock Times, The Chronogram, Time Out New York, as well as Guest of a Guest, The Daily Freeman, and The Village Voice.

The weather is looking a little grim, with rain in the weekend forecast, but we are confident in a heavy turnout.

In addition to Lollypops and Dragons at the Colony, Barbara also has a few pieces hanging at the Varga Gallery, located at 130 Tinker St, Woodstock NY.

LOLLYPOPS AND DRAGONS AT THE COLONY

Artist Barbara Graff brings "Lollypops and Dragons" to the Colony Cafe of Woodstock New York! (May 4-June 30)
"Lollypops and Dragons" is a touring art exhibition that began in 2007 at BSP of Kingston New York. The exhibition is comprised of works from throughout the artist's career. The theme is inspired by the poem "Lollypops and Dragons," which Barbara wrote in 1973.

Barbara's work is largely influenced by her appreciation for nature, as well as the multitude of emotions and sentiments evoked from  various relationships between people. Also one may note, the tremendous influence from her years as a mannequin make-up artist in a large selection of the works.

The opening reception will be held Saturday May 9th, from 4pm to 6pm at the Colony Cafe.
